HEPA Macedonia is medium size national organization acting in area of public health – a member of the WHO HEPA European network which works for better health and wellbeing in the WHO European Region through more physical activity for all people.
Our mission is to provide a forum for the advancement of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) research, policy and practice across the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia as well as WHO European region.
The vision of HEPA Macedonia is to achieve better health through increasing physical activity, balanced nutrition and other healthier lifestyle among all people in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
At national level, the aim is to initiate multi-sectoral approaches in physical activity promotion and in other relevant sectors, to develop the steps to implement national policy, strategy and program on the key health determinant, physical activity in a variety of settings, including health policy. Local governments have a crucial role to play in creating environments and opportunities for physical activity and active living. Many countries have already developed national physical activity policies and action plans.
The goal is to strengthen and support efforts and actions that increase participation and improve the conditions favorable to a healthy lifestyle, in particular with respect to health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA), and to reduce sedentary behaviour.
